Hrithik and Katrina set to romance on screen again in their upcoming action caper Bang Bang

The intense chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in their upcoming action caper Bang Bang sure seems to give the audience bang for their buck. High-voltage stunts, exotic international locales and Vishal-Shekhar's music is expected to add to that.

The film, an official Hindi remake of Hollywood hit Knight And Day, has Hrithik and Katrina filling Tom Cruise's and Cameron Diaz's shoes respectively.

Though many producers were waiting to cast the two together as solo leads, looks like the makers of Bang Bang managed to close the deal first with the script. And director Siddharth Anand is working to ensure that the story transforms into a riveting, breathtaking action film.

Two schedules of the film are already completed and the next kickstarts this July in Europe.

The crew faced rough weather during the first schedule in Thailand, but the lead pair did manage to shoot some stunning stunt sequences there. From there, they headed to Greece for the second schedule, where a romantic sequence was filmed. The film will be shot in the Far East, Europe and India.

Bang Bang, produced by Fox Star Studios, is slated for release on May 1, 2014.

Hrithik Roshan Works Out With His Mom Pinky Roshan

Did you know Hrithik Roshan and his mom Pinky Roshan work out together?! Well at least on Mother’s Day they do! Hrithik says, “Every son must maximise Mother’s Day. I’m of the view that every day belongs to your mother. The unconditional love that a mum gives can never come from any other relationship. The idea of setting aside this one day in the calendar to celebrate your mother is fantastic. It’s a day when you should attempt to put a continuous smile on her face with every gesture of yours. Besides giving my mother flowers and a note for Mother’s Day, I have also given her the gift of fitness this year.”

Hrithik goes on to explain, “She is 60 years old and was 25 kilos heavier a few months ago. But I got her motivated to lose weight and I love the fact that she picked up the challenge. Look at her today — she looks as young as any of us. Fitness is a quality that makes you feel empowered. Mothers give love and I think it is time for us to take it forward by giving love to others. Whatever I am, is all because of her. Nothing gives me more joy than to give back to the world what my mother gave me — affection, the value system or just small tips and lessons in everyday life.”

And here’s what doting mom has to say, “As everyone knows, I have been a star wife all my life. And, the one question people have often asked me is, how was it raising my children — Sunaina and Hrithik — in the atmosphere of a star home. Obviously, they are keen to know if I have spoiled my children because we were privileged. Frankly, being a star wife is different from being a mother. This is something I told myself right at the onset. So, both Sunaina and Hrithik were raised as normal children. I gave them lots of love and affection, but I also instilled the right values in them, from the start. As they went from children to teenagers to adults, I continuously monitored their growth to ensure they didn’t lose their way. Today, I’m a proud mother because despite some pluses and minuses like most of us have, both have turned out to be normal.”

Psst, before I forget here’s a story we did on how to dress like a star wife!Back to Hrithik’s mom now, “Hrithik knows how to make me feel special. I know there are many children who fail to acknowledge the contribution of their mothers. My son continues to give me undying love and what’s more, he keeps me motivated throughout. Just a few months ago, he got me hooked onto fitness. They say a family that eats and prays together, stays together. In our case — it would be the family that exercises together, stays together. I cannot tell you how inspiring it is to spend time with Hrithik in the gymnasium. Not only does he supervise my exercise routine, but he also keeps offering me incentives, like he does with his two children.

I must share a secret with you. Hrehaan and Hridhaan, Hrithik and Sussanne’s little boys, Sunaina, her daughter and I keep getting flowers, specially inscribed cups and medals from my son when we do well in the gym. He’s a bit strict when he gives us challenges. But he’s equally caring and ensures each of us gets rewarded for our efforts. As far as I’m concerned, it’s Mother’s Day all the 365 days of the year. And Hrithik ensures that I feel special throughout. The best gift he has given me is by becoming the person he is…warm, sensitive and a devoted family man.”

*Awww* Hrithik!

Indians will be proud to see Krrish 3

Rakesh Roshan also plans 4 animated sequels featuring his superhero
A man who is known to push the envelope and extend the boundaries of filmmaking, Rakesh Roshan has done it again by announcing four animated sequels based on his mega-budget movie Krrish.

In a chat with Metrolife, he says: “I have always planned new strategies to promote my films. The animated films are part of my strategy. They will extend the brand value of Krrish and revive memories of my first movie in the series, Koi Mil Gaya.
The last film released six years ago and a lot of kids were not even born then. Animation works very well with kids.” His production house Film Kraft Productions has partnered with Turner Broadcasting Systems and Toonz Animation to create the four animated sequels.

“The animation will be based on the life of 11-year-old Krrish who is unaware of his powers. It will have stories of how he helps his friends,” he says, explaining that the animated movies will act as a launch pad for Krrish 3, which is slated for release during Diwali, this year.

Ask him what made him venture into the world of superheroes and he says, “I have always pushed the limits by making different kinds of films. Regular films are easy. I take difficult subjects which give me sleepless nights and require me to work on things! That is why I take up only one film at a time.”

His focused approach in direction has made him a brand name in the industry. He likes direction because “a director is the most creative person on the (film) sets. He visualises the script on screen. When the audience accepts my hard work, I feel on top of the world,” he says, quickly adding that “success is not in anybody’s hands.”

Though his last production Kites did not make exactly set the box office on fire, he is confident that with Krrish 3 people will get to see a “good” film. “I don’t know about the box office but Indians will be proud to see such a film!”

His confidence stems from all the rigorous shooting schedules, spanning three years. “By God’s grace, everything went according to schedule. I managed to finish the whole film on the dates that I had planned,” he says, conceding that the ride was not smooth or easy.

“The biggest challenge was to reduce the number of visuals because, unlike Hollywood, we don’t have massive budgets! Working on a budget to make a film like this is tough,” he confesses.

Having given Krrish 3 his best shot, his thoughts don’t veer towards awards. “I just want the movie to work,” he says, fingers firmly crossed.

Hrithik Roshan Motivates His Family to Hit the Gym

Hrithik Roshan is giving his family a precious gift - good health! He has engaged his personal trainer's wife to help his mother, sister and father get fitter.

Hrithik Roshan is giving his family a precious gift - good health! He has engaged his personal trainer's wife to help his mother, sister and father get fitter.
Hrithik works out for hours, day after day, so it was just a matter of time before his passion rubbed off on his family.

That having happened, Hrithik has entrusted his trainer, Kris Gethin's wife, Marika Johansson, with the task of helping his mother Pinky, sister Sunaina and dad Rakesh get in shape.
Sunaina, who is proud of her younger brother, says, "Marika has put mom and me on a strict diet. She has also been making us work out extensively. Hrithik takes active interest in our exercise sessions."
Sunaina dishes that Hrithik doesn't stop his workouts even when he is unwell.

"Mom and I are getting a lot more involved with our fitness now and we can already feel the results. Marika has been making us do various types of fun exercises and she has created a fitness chart for us to follow. In fact, the gym has now become a meeting point for the entire family," says Sunaina.

Papa Roshan too has been working out with them, confirms Sunaina.

So stoked are the ladies with treadmill routines, for the last few weeks Pinky and Marika have been visiting several high-end hospitals in the city and meeting doctors in order to spread the word on the importance of fitness.

Krrish 3 To Release On Sunday, November 3

The very day Rakesh Roshan announced his plan to make Krrish 3, the film was declared a BLOCKBUSTER. When Rakesh Roshan decided to release Krrish 3 during Diwali 2013, the film was declared THE BLOCKBUSTER. And now, it’s only a few months before the entire world will watch Krrish 3. Now get this – Krrish 3 will NOT release on a Friday like every other Hindi film does. It will hit the marquee on November 3 (Sunday), and NOT November 1 (Friday).

Reason: The run-up to Diwali is considered a dry phase for films. Besides, Sunday, November 3, is Laxmi puja. If the movie releases on Friday, November 1, it will not take a gigantic opening as it WILL by releasing on November 3 as people are reluctant to leave their homes just before that auspicious day. Smart thinking!

Roshan said he has always pushed the limits by making different kinds of films and planning new strategies to promote them. “Since Krrish 3 will be ready for release this Diwali. I wanted to revive the memory of Krrish among children who may have not seen Koi Mil Gaya or Krrish,” Roshan said.
“I am happy to have collaborated with Turner, the oldest and most popular children’s channel in Asia and Toonz Animation, who are the best in creating animated content in Asia, to make this first-of-its-kind animated film series for television,” he added.
“Cartoon Network will now be home to Bollywood’s biggest superhero in a whole new animated avatar. We are certain that they will be enthralled and excited to watch this adaptation of their superhero on Cartoon Network,” said Siddharth Jain, Managing Director (South Asia), Turner International India Pvt Ltd.

Darr ke aagey Hrithik hai

MOUNTAIN DEW MAN HRITHIK ROSHAN ON FACING HIS FEARS AND LIVING IN THE MOMENT

Hrithik Roshanis the new face of fizzy drink Mountain Dew.

What makes Hrithik Roshan and Mountain Dew a brand fit?
Simply put, their tagline ‘Darr ke aage jeet hai’ is symbolic of my life. In my entire journey, if you pick any one day, it’s a living example of that one line. Whatever I am today… wherever I am, is because of that philosophy. Fear is an energy that makes me grow. I use my anxiety to empower myself to overcome my fears.

Hrithik Roshan the fitness icon and Mountain Dew the aerated drink: how do you explain the association?
Anything in moderation is acceptable. Am I a health freak? Yes. Do I pride myself as being a fitness icon? Yes. Do I drink Mountain Dew when I want to? Yes. It’s as simple as that. I am a healthy person who knows what’s good for me and what I need to do to keep fit.

What are the biggest fears you have overcome in life?
I have stopped calling them my fears… I look at them as challenges. Once you experience the joy of overcoming a certain fear, you become addicted to it in the sense that you want to create more challenges. I don’t sleep well at night if I haven’t accomplished something, however minor it may be. Most of these involve fighting my fears. I am glad I have fears and I am thankful for my challenges because they have made me the man I am today.

The brand also embodies the spirit of adventure. Besides Bollywood — which is an adventure in itself! — what is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?
I believe that one should have variety in one’s experiences. Adventure is a wonderful place to be in and I love all kinds of adventure, be it trekking or skydiving or scuba diving. I consider it a form of meditation… a way to relax your mind. You can’t be balancing on a snowboard and thinking of your problems. You have to live in that moment… for me that’s adventure.

How was it shooting for the ad in Bali?
I loved working with people who I thought were better than me and because of that I got to learn many things. The director of the ad (Prashant) Verma was wonderful to work with. We had a great team and we went in all guns blazing and shot a wonderful ad.

The fear that you have in the ad (hydrophobia) is the one your character Arjun suffers from in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Did that come in from you or the creative team?
As an actor, I wasn’t really looking to duplicate something I had already done on screen (laughs), but yes, it was reminiscent of that film.

Was it easier jumping off that cliff in the ad considering you have done that already in Zindagi... and now in Krissh 3?
(Laughs) Believe me, every time you have to jump off a building or jump off a cliff or dive into water, it feels like the first time… every single time. You still have to get over that nausea, that anxiety. But once you take that leap of faith, the rush of adrenaline and the excitement is just unparalleled

Technology makes action safer, not easier

Technology may have made action safer but not easier, says Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, known as much for his superbly executed action stunts in films and ads as for his acting.
Action in Bollywood films was of the "dhishoom, dhishoom" variety till the 1990s, but advanced technology and increased use of special effects brought in a new twist.
"Action is not easier (with better technology). Maybe it is safer," the actor told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
Hrithik has done films like "Mission Kashmir", "Krrish", "Dhoom 2" and "Agneepath", all of which gave him ample scope to demonstrate the daredevilry that has won him so many fans. He recently wrapped up the action-packed "Krrish 3", and even jumped off a cliff in Bali for an ad for aerated drink Mountain Dew.
In his view, actors and filmmakers who dabble in action have many advantages now, especially with the boom in demand for films like "Rowdy Rathore", "Dabangg", "Don: The Chase Begins Again" and "RA. One".
"There is a lot more that you can visualise now than before. There is a lot more scope for you to think out of the box, and things which were unimaginable a few years back are now possible.
"In that regard you can say, yes (technology has made action easier). When it comes down to doing them, there is always some adrenaline pumping and there is nervousness," said Hrithik, who is fit as the proverbial fiddle.
At 39, and after over a decade of making his way to the A-listers of Bollywood, Hrithik, son of veteran actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, believes success comes when "dreams turn to challenges".
"Once you live enough of life, you realise that all those dreams that you are afraid of are only challenges. So, I call them challenges and it will make you nervous, which is full of good energy. The anxiety and nervousness is good for you.
"It is all of this that has got me where I am today. I have reached this place only with this kind of philosophy," said the actor, who used to stammer once upon a time.
Hrithik, now a father of two, made a blockbuster debut with "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" in 2000. He then cemented his spot in the industry with projects like "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", "Koi... Mil Gaya", "Dhoom 2", "Jodhaa Akbar", "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" and "Agneepath".
A dancer par excellence, the actor admits his only aim in life is still about "putting in my best to find out my true potential".
"I am on a mission to make this the best life, come what may, and every day is a step forward in finding out my true potential," he said.
That holds true for his brand associations too.
After endorsing brands like Hide & Seek, Reliance Mobiles and Liberty Footwear, the actor is promoting Mountain Dew, the slogan for which reads: "Darr se Mat Daro, Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai". It translates to - 'Don't fear your fears, victory lies ahead of them'.
Hrithik feels it is "one of the best fits" for him.
"The brand has taken the philosophy of my life and put it on the billboard, as well as visually expressed it through various channels to the people. The basic principle of my life has always been that way," he said.

Hrithik Roshan burns the midnight oil to prepare Krrish 3 promo

The actor has been spotted spending long hours at a studio to put together his film's promo

It is his prize project and Hrithik Roshan is taking no chances with it. Krissh 3, which has just wrapped up, has entered its crucial post production stage. The first promo is being edited at a studio in the suburbs, which is run by Binny Padda. It is a studio that specialises in cutting promotional trailers, and has films such as Ghajini, Rockstar, and Koi Mil Gaya to their credit.
According to eye-witnesses, Hrithik has been spending long hours at the studio, often burning the midnight oil in the process. Said a source, “Anyone who walks into the studio at any time of day or night, is likely to bump into him. For weeks now he has been ensconced in the editing room, overseeing every bit of the trailers which will not go on air before the middle of this year.” This is hardly surprising considering how special-effectsheavy the film is.
However, the film, which was supposed to be converted into the 3-D format, will not be so. Confirming this, Rakesh Roshan told Mirror, “Krrish 3 is not happening in 3D.” Buzz is, this decision was initiated by the fact that many of the big blockbusters in 3D in the recent past did not got the cash registers ringing.

Hrithik celebrates Mahashivratri with family.

Hrithik celebrates Mahashivratri at his family owned temple in Panvel

Not many are aware that Hrithik Roshan piously celebrates Mahashivratri for the last 12 years with his family at his grandfather J Om Prakash's farmhouse in Panvel's Barapada village.

Hrithik does puja and serves food to the poor at a temple there, shares Hrithik, "Dada dedicated a temple to Shivji (Lord Shiva, the deity) in the 1980s. His entire spiritual life has been dedicated to the temple there. We have a huge farmhouse in Panvel and the temple was built on a section of the farm. It has become a tourist spot. Dada has been conducting a langar there ever since he built the temple."

"Twelve years ago he asked me to help me with that. He said I should share the joy that he gets from feeding the poor. The langars are now held twice a week. And no matter what, I take a day off on Mahashivratri to help out. It's a different experience!"

The actor further adds, "Earlier when we were kids it was like a big family get together as my cousins, aunts and uncles would also attend. We would stay over the weekend but now we are all busy, so we get together only for a day."

Hrithik who loves meat sticks turns total vegetarian on that day, but denies in believing in any rigid spiritual beliefs. Explains Hrithik, "It's not about a particular day. I don't restrict myself to any rigid spiritual beliefs. At home we celebrate everything from Ganpati to Mahashivratri. It's not as much as about religious beliefs and rituals as the joy in believing in the higher spirit."

The Agneepath team reunites for 'Shuddhi'. Hrithik, Kjo and KM confirm

After the super success of Dharma Productions' 'Agneepath' last year, producer Karan Johar, director Karan Malhotra and Hrithik Roshan are teaming up again. Unlike their first collaboration, a remake of the 1991 movie produced by Yash Johar (Karan's late father), the next venture is based on an original story. Titled 'Shuddhi', the film starts end-2013 and will release in Diwali 2014.

About the film, KJo says, "It's a large-scale love story, a genre I love." Recalling the making of Agneepath, he says, "I had a wonderful experience. Karan (Malhotra) has a fantastic vision, a combination of aesthetic and commercial sense. Hrithik is a close friend and an outstanding actor. So, it's great that the three of us are teaming up again."

Hrithik says, "I'm really excited to work with the two Karans again. Agneepath is an extremely special film for me and I can't wait to recreate a new world again."

Incidentally, this will be KJo's second Diwali outing since his directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). Hoping that the festival will be as lucky for Shuddhi as it was for KKHH, he says, "Diwali is also synonymous with films that entertain the entire family. Shuddhi is a love story that gives you everything that you look for in a festive release. I hope that we live up to the expectations that Agneepath has generated."

KJo says, "Karan has been preparing for this film for over a year. I've never seen a director work a year in advance on pre-production."
